M16 (Nebulosa Aquila)

The Nebula Aquila is one of the most striking objects in the sky. Characterized in its central area by long columns of gas, known as the Pillars of Creation, is about 5800 light years from Earth and is generated by the young open cluster that lies within it. This cluster is made up of many young blue supergiant, with a mean age of about 3 million years and whose activities, in addition to originate the famous columns of gas, helps to illuminate the entire central region.
